Stability or Entrepreneurship

I’ve never thought of myself as an extremely book-smart person. I do well in school, but I’m not the person who will get the best grades in the class. To some people, the very fact that I have decided to pursue my education with a master’s degree in tax might indicate that I am in fact very smart. But the truth is, I believe anyone who puts enough time in studying is probably going to get a fairly good grade and will be able to continue with further education.

I do however think of myself as a well-balanced person. I’m pretty good at school, I have good social skills, I can write fairly well (although I sometimes run out of vocabulary), etc. This well-balanced characteristic can sometimes be good, but sometimes it can be bad. I occasionally wish I was that person who was extremely good at something and that I would be able to solely focus on that and do great things in whatever that field may be. For instance, I have met people who wanted to be doctors since they were kids, and today that is exactly what they are studying for. Granted, no one has an “easy” path to get to his or her goal, but some people’s goals are clearer than others.

A True Montreal Weekend

 Hey guys!

I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Mine was super fun since my brother visited me in Montreal and we walked a lot around the city to enjoy the nice weather. A group of us went up to the Mont Royal and the view of the city was gorgeous. Can you believe I have been living in Montreal for 4 years and I had never gone up to that spot? Here’s the amazing view we saw from there.

7 Airbnb I Dream About

I am so excited for August since Marc-André and I will be heading to Europe for three weeks. We decided to stay in Airbnb rooms everywhere we will go to have a little bit more privacy and comfort than in hostels. To be honnest, I’ve never been a very party-oriented person and I’m a little afraid that hostels would be a little bit too intense for me… Now I sound like a 70 year old person. I promise you I’m actually fun 😉

Looking at Airbnb in Europe got me into looking at rooms, apartments and houses all accross the globe, and I am now in love with this new type of accomodation. It’s so much cheaper than hotels, but I feel like you get a lot more for your money. You can get a whole flat to yourself which allows you to cook, feel like a real local, get tons of privacy, etc. Besides, I personally don’t mind making my bed and keeping my apartment clean even on vacation!

Barcelona – Istanbul 2015

I have always loved to travel. I love the excitement of getting on a plane and flying to an amazing destination, meeting new people, seeing beautiful sights, learning about the history of a population and taking tons of photos of those exceptional moments.

The first time I went to Europe I was 17 years old. It was a school trip for three weeks in Italy, but we also spent a couple days in Paris. I remember getting on the plane and having no idea what to expect. To me, Europe was this far away land that I did not know much about. The first thing I noticed was how small the cars were compared to the ones in North America. I know it sounds silly but that’s literally the first thing that surprised me coming out of the Charles-de-Gaulle airport. On our way to Paris, my eyes must have been as big as tennis balls looking out the window. I am pretty sure I said something like “Oh my god, a European tree”.
